Oakleaf are proud to be partnering with one of the UK's best known retail brands in their search for a Head of HR in one of their key business areas. Experienced applicants with a proven track record of success in large retail brands are actively encouraged to apply.

The new Head of HR will own the HR relationship with the business, partnering, and coaching colleagues and the leadership team. They will help set a framework for developing policy with colleagues and key areas to ensure alignment to the overall People and business strategy, helping to engage and inspire thousands of colleagues across the UK.

The purpose of the role is to focus on the current and future talent needs of the business area, organisational effectiveness, strategic workforce planning, design and delivery of business change. The Head of HR will be able to translate the business priorities and People Strategy into a People Plan for the business area to drive performance through people, culture and colleague activities. A strong partnering approach is essential as well as the ability to engage and collaborate with all stakeholders, providing clear feedback.

The Head of HR will be responsible for creating a competitive employer brand and colleague experience by influencing and challenging the people agenda. They will also drive competitive advantage by leading the way in market trends, insights, innovations and future projections.

The successful candidate will be experienced in HR practice, reward practice and Employment Law. They will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at a senior level, as well demonstrating the right level of challenge and influence at senior level to drive. They will be an excellent Business Partner with commercial acumen and an understanding of the operational levers which drive success and operational change within an organisation. They will have strong coaching and mentoring skills.
