Fantastic opportunity for a senior HR professional to work alongside the Head of HR in providing an effective HR service across EIP. They will act as a first point of contact for Members, line managers and employees, offering advice and support in relation to a range of HR issues – with a focus on training and development.

This role will involve general HR support and guidance on a range of employee issues, with particular emphasis placed on the following responsibilities:

Training and Development

  • Working with the Head of HR, to develop and implement a coherent strategy covering all aspects of training and development at EIP
  • Adopting an approach to training and development that fits with the general aims of the business, balanced against employment law requirements and established best practice

  • Acting as the point of contact across EIP for all training and development matters

  • Assisting with the management of annual training and development budgets, working with Finance as appropriate

  • Developing and maintaining content for a planned online learning management system

  • Developing and implementing a proactive and supportive approach to managing the probationary period of all new joiners

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of a revised approach to induction/orientation training

  • Coaching Members, line managers and employees in relation to training and development matters

  • Conducting HR induction sessions with all new joiners

  • Maintaining the HR induction presentation, to ensure it reflects internal changes/updates

  • Sourcing and arranging in-house training by external providers

  • Evaluating training and development activities, and reporting back as appropriate

  • Maintaining an overview of all training-related deadlines (including course and exam entries, costs incurred, and exam results), and directing the activities of the HR Administration team in relation to these

  • Ensuring that accurate records of training and development activities are maintained

  • Working with the relevant General Members, to ensure that they remain appraised of all current professional training activities, and to ensure that fee earners adhere to continuing professional development (CPD) requirements


  • Ensuring that the monthly UK, Patently, and German payrolls, and the bi-weekly US payroll, are run accurately and to strict deadlines, working with Finance and with external payroll providers
  • Ensuring the HR administration team, gathers and enters all payroll data accurately

  • Taking responsibility for signing off each payroll, ahead of the relevant deadlines

  • Developing and maintaining internal payroll processes, as appropriate.

The successful candidate will also have oversight of:

  • Salary review procedure
  • Employee Relations
  • Employee Engagement
  • Service delivery and HR information.
