About the Cabinet Office

Operating at the heart of government, the Cabinet Office is a hugely vibrant and diverse place to work. We support the Prime Minister to ensure government runs effectively, and we’re the corporate headquarters for government in partnership with the Treasury. We take the lead in critical policy areas, and our work is incredibly far reaching. All this gives you the chance to take on vital, stimulating projects while developing an outstanding career in the Civil Service.

About the role

You’ll join a highly skilled team of occupational psychologists and play a key role in running and developing our service. Using evidence-based practice and embracing innovation, we want to put our clients at the heart of everything we do and constantly find ways to improve outcomes.

You’ll scope and design bespoke assessment solutions, using online platforms to support this. You’ll manage multiple assessment projects at the same time, and work closely with our clients to ensure we’re following best practice and supporting their decision making. Providing advice to senior leaders and training other team members are also crucial aspects of the role.

About you

You’ll be a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) in the Division of Occupational Psychology (DOP) and a registered psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), or willing to work towards registration.

You’ll have solid experience in occupational psychology across recruitment, selection and assessment, and a wide knowledge of psychometrics, including accreditation in BPS Test User Occupational Ability (Level A) and Occupational Personality (Level B).

Skills in coaching, group training and designing online selection tools are all desirable.

About working with us

At the Cabinet Office we’re committed to developing our staff in a truly inclusive environment that brings out the best in everyone. You’ll be provided with high quality training, tailored learning and development opportunities and up to five learning days per year. And, as part of the Civil Service, we also offer flexible working options, generous annual leave, a Civil Service pension, staff bonuses and childcare support.
