Job Details

As a Head of Talent & Organisational Development, you will focus on leading on global Group L&D and OD initiatives.

Client Details

My customer is a recognised international business within its industry. This organisation boasts a pedigree of innovation and high growth (organically and through M&A); delivering excellent customer service and having its people at the heart of their journey.

This business has an insatiable appetite to grow a successful business, yet innovate and build a business that services its colleagues with a truly inclusive environment, great career opportunities, and a fun place to work.

Description

My customer is investing in this role, which is a first time appointment, at this level.

Reporting into the Group People Director, you will focus on will strategise and lead the global talent management and development landscape. The current Talent & OD proposition is described as 'tactical' and 'reactive' - therefore you're joining a very greenfield Talent arena.

As the global lead for Talent & OD, you will look to complete a full 'organisational training needs analysis' and look to strategise a cutting-edge programme from conception, budget, delivery and analysis of ROI.

Being conscious that the business is PE-backed, high growth, and highly commercial in its approach, it is imperative that you are able to build strong board-level relationships, analyse current needs quickly, articulate tangible ROI and deliver at pace.

Equally, it's important to recognise that my customer is geared for continued growth (from a financial, structural and learning perspective), and you will be required to recognise how to support that journey in the new working ways that Covid has presented to the world - remote working for long periods of time.

Key focuses for the your first 9-12 months are as follows;

  • Organisational training needs analysis, and conception of a best-in-class 3-5 year Talent & OD strategy that scopes emerging talent through c-suite - with your first 12 weeks
  • Build strong and productive working relationships with the executive board, functional leads and the wider HR team
  • Analyse and develop new frameworks for competency, succession planning, career pathways (vertical and horizontal) etc.
  • Analyse and develop a learning management system. With a potential to scope and procure a new LMS if required
  • Focus on building a robust plan during periods of integration
  • Continue to drive and develop a performance-focused, customer-centric and fun culture
  • Be an ambassador of Diversity & Inclusion

To stress this excellent opportunity, this role is the first of its kind and is therefore an exciting opportunity to develop in a greenfield space. This role is strategic, with operational elements, when required.

This international role is remote (across the North West), however you will be required to be part of the office environment for a couple of days per week (Manchester, their HO, and London).

Profile

To be considered for this Head of Talent & Organisational Development appointment, you will have a proven experience as a senior Talent Development / OD / L&D professional, within an autonomous, strategic and operational role - in an international setting.

You will be confident and assertive - with an outgoing personality and an informal, yet professional style. You must be able to engage key stakeholders, communicate tangible ROI, and coach effectively to all levels of the business; grassroots to leadership.

As an HR leader, you will be the moral compass of the business, and look to evolve behaviours and processes at all levels - within the HR team, and across the wider business.

A key ingredient to your success, in this role and in this business, is being able to adeptly understand the business operations and articulate sound commercial initiatives that drive tangible ROI. You will also be an innovator of the latest technology and digital learning trends, and have an entrepreneurial approach to full service design and delivery.

You must have experience within a fast-paced, acquisitive, environment, which you have taken through a transformative journey within an M&A focused business - ideally within a Tech or Digital environment.

You will have proven experience and a strong toolkit in the following;

* Full organisational TNA
* LMS overhaul / implementation
* M&A learning integration
* International experience - US, and ideally EMEA

You will be CIPD qualified (or be qualified by experience).
