Client Details

A national mental health charity supporting thousands of individuals every year through pioneering approaches to recovery and championing social inclusion. One of the largest charities of its kind in England, they offer a wide range of support services to people suffering from mental ill-health, including supported housing, residential care homes and community based services. My client is seeking a candidate who understands the nature of their organisation, is experienced in the areas required and is highly committed to the role and its remit on a permanent basis.

Description

Working in partnership with the business, building strong relationships to enable enhanced business performance, capability and motivation. Working collaboratively across the People and Organisation Development Directorate, supporting and coaching line managers to enable effective use of people resources in meeting business aims, and enabling best practice in people engagement and management

Profile

Essential knowledge and experience:
- CIPD qualified at Associate or Chartered status (or working towards)

- Similar NfP organisation
- Up to date knowledge of UK HR practice and employment law and ensuring compliance through policy and procedure
- Providing high level guidance and support to managers in multi-site, multi disciplinary teams (total remit 450 - 500)
- ER - oversight of cases held by HR Advisor (direct report).
- Proven experience of managing, planning and implementing complex change - ESSENTIAL
- Handling Restructure, TUPE and Redundancy activity, from small to large scale - ESSENTIAL (TUPE more so related to service provision changes, rather than whole scale business transfers)
- Using HR metrics to inform and improve organisational performance - identifying "hotspots" and finding pragmatic solutions
- Managing and implementing HR projects
- Providing high level guidance and support to managers in multi-site, multi disciplinary teams
- Managing direct reports (1 HR Advisor)
- Experience of working to a Service Level Agreement (SLA)

Skills and abilities:
- A credible and approachable business partner, able to build strong, trusting relationships
- Driving essential. Able to cover a Southern England remit and occasionally stay away overnight (inner and outer London, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Wiltshire, Kent, Sussex, Oxfordshire, Bristol, Northamptonshire, Dorset and Surrey)
- Strong business acumen
- A skilled negotiator and influencer
- Able to identify and implement process improvements to enhance business performance
- Designing and delivering effective learning interventions (desirable)
- Understands and promotes the value of diversity in the workplace
