The Head of HR position is an all rounder generalist leadership role with a small HR team, reception, H&S and Security reporting in. You will work in partnership with the MD, FD and Ops Director to lead the business through its next phase of growth. In this role you will be responsible for reviewing and improving all elements of the employee life cycle from recruitment through to talent development and engagement.

A unique non unionised manufacturing business, they have gone from strength to strength and have seen growth through the pandemic due to their innovation and product offering. With 24/7 sites across the North this will be an office based role, leading a team and getting under the skin of the business and its culture to elevate what makes it such a success whilst making observations for improvement.

Description

The Head of HR will:

  • Review the current HR processes and systems to make improvements and create a people plan that will support the strategic business objectives
  • Be commercially focused when looking at people initiatives, making it not only a great place to work but also having measurable outcomes.
  • Manage all talent and employee life-cycle with a focus on hiring strategy for their next phase of growth
  • Nurture talent, putting in a plan that will improve on boarding, retention and identify leaders for the future.
  • Be passionate about people
  • Be achievement orientated and looking to add value at every stage of the employee life-cycle
  • Review recruitment activity and implement a structure so that hiring managers make better hiring decisions
  • Develop individuals to be able to deliver to the best of their ability
  • Be a vocal part of the SLT in business planning meetings

Profile

To be successful as Head of HR candidates must demonstrate:

  • A commercial understanding of driving change
  • Have strong HR leadership skills and a proven track record of adding value
  • Have extensive experience leading a HR function, ideally in an SME environment
  • Experience of a Manufacturing or Engineering organisation
  • Ability to be on site 5 days a week with some flexibility to support night shift managers when required
  • Ideally be CIPD qualified or equivalent

Job Offer

The client is open on salary to get the right person but has bench marked between £65-75K plus benefits
