Fantastic new opportunity for an experienced HRBP ( ideally CIPD L7)

Job Purpose

Leads and manages the people management related agenda with the operational division providing a full range of best practice HR expertise and support to internal customers in achieving effective change, delivering on their business plans and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, develop and manage the HR Advisors and Recruiters to excel in their roles and deliver professional HR and Recruitment advice and support to the Northern areas.
  • Deliver the people strategy for the organisations' growth plans, with key objectives for recruitment, retention, wellbeing and team engagement.
  • Work in partnership with operational managers delivering effective HR and Recruitment solutions to current and future business challenges.
  • Work in partnership with HR colleagues to ensure effective and seamless service support is provided to the business areas.
  • Work closely with the Recruiters to create robust sourcing strategies that will attract the best and the brightest talent to the organisation.
  • Support operational managers to develop excellent management skills and knowledge through coaching, training and pro-active interventions.
  • Be able to manage teams against predefined key performance indicators
  • Provide HR advice and practical support to operational managers in achieving business change programmes including formal consultations on changes to terms and conditions, staffing restructures and TUPE transfers.
  • Leading and supporting on developing and implementing projects as defined.
  • Coach and develop managers in managing the performance of their staff.
  • Provide management information on relevant HR and Recruitment performance indicators and the monitoring of targets such as, but not limited to, employee relations activity, absence levels, turnover and recruitment rates
  • Take personal responsibility for maintaining up to date generalist HR knowledge and expertise and good current knowledge of the business environment.
  • Ensure that relevant budget spend (recruitment, HR and L&D) is authorised and accounted for when supporting divisions ensuring there is no HR overspend as a result.
  • Ensure that information and data governance relating to people's personal data is processed to all relevant standards such as the General data Protection Regulations.


Person Specification Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of advising and leading TUPE transfers, mergers, redundancies, restructures and organisational development initiatives
  • Demonstrable experience of coaching a small team of professionals.
  • Demonstrable experience of advising on change and HR related activities such as employee engagement, voice, recruitment and role design.
  • Demonstrable experience in advising on complex and high volume employee relations cases - including discipline, capability, grievance and absence.
  • Demonstrable experience in advising senior managers to deliver on organisational objectives.
  • Experience of effective recruitment & retention in a tough labour market.
  • Experience of delivering training and facilitating workshops.

Qualifications

  • Educated to MCIPD or relevant post graduate level qualifications

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to develop creative solutions to support the management of change.
  • Demonstrable experience of working at a senior HR level
  • Presence and credibility to work with Divisional Leadership Team colleagues gaining their trust and confidence.
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Data-driven, decision maker and pragmatic problem solver who can find root causes of issues and gain leadership support to address them
  • Highly organized and able to manage a broad portfolio of activities within agreed deadlines
  • Ability to ensure effective communication within the team and to divisional management partners.
  • Resilient, flexible, driven by a strong commitment to customer excellence.
  • A Self-starter attitude, organised and ability to organise others when required.
  • Ability to quickly pick up an employee relations case, analyse risks and options for action and provide credible HR advice to managers.
  • Ability to plan and manage work and projects.
  • Comprehensive and up to date knowledge of employment law and best HR practice.
  • You value diversity and believe strongly in creating an inclusive environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Self-managed and able to work from home as well as having the ability to travel between locations and stay overnight as required.
