For the CMA to continue being a world-leading government body, it is vital that we continue to improve the productivity and performance of our people and see that they are sufficiently rewarded for their efforts. To ensure this continues, we are seeking an experienced HR Reward Manager to play a key role in the management of our Pay and Reward and Systems Development operations.

As a HR Manager (Reward & Systems), you will lead on implementing CMA’s pay and reward strategy and will oversee the HR system development plan. Supporting you in delivering a quality HR Operations service will be a Senior HR Adviser (HR Systems) and a HR Adviser (Pay and Reward), for who you will be responsible for managing and motivating. The specific responsibilities of the role include:

  • Pay and Reward: Developing the implementation of the CMA’s future pay strategy and leading on the CMA’s participation in the HM Treasury’s Pay Bill Control Pilot. You will also lead on the development of pay business cases, the delivery of the SCS and non-SCS annual pay settlements and lead on pay negotiations and consultation exercises with staff representatives. You will also oversee the delivery of the annual Gender Pay Gap and Ethnicity Pay Gap analysis and annual reporting and all internal and external reward reporting.

  • Systems development: Overseeing and managing the HR system development plan and the delivery of the CMA’s self-service strategy as well as overseeing the delivery of any relevant training and knowledge sessions to ensure all HR staff are competent in the use of the Agresso system.

Significant relevant experience of delivering a quality HR Operations service is essential, along with experience of developing and delivering pay activities, such as writing pay business cases, developing pay proposals, participating in trade union negotiations and/or the delivery of annual pay settlements.

You will also need demonstrable experience of working in a role that has incorporated an element of systems development, as well as relevant experience of developing and delivering meaningful and accurate management information. Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills are equally important.

In return the CMA is a hugely diverse, rewarding and stimulating place to work – an opportunity to work for the public good and to stretch and develop yourself in doing so. We offer generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, our employee assistance programme and favourable consideration of flexible working.
