Description

Strategic HR:

The core aspect of the role is to partner with the Executive Management Team (EMT), understand the needs of the business and implement the key HR strategies. You will be actively looking into business and people related solutions, bringing the most strategic ones to the table

You will:

  • Be the 'link' between the EMT and the wider team
  • Drive business performance and people related KPIs
  • Provide counsel as well as challenge on people matters
  • Identify and recommend changes to current systems and procedures to ensure high standards of service are maintained
  • Challenge organisational structure and actively design improvements
  • Continuously work on improving and embedding the culture and values
  • Manage the learning and development activities including maintaining training records, developing learning & development plans and programs which support the Succession Plan
  • Actively oversee and manage a full end to end recruitment process; more specifically developing employee attraction strategies to secure top quality candidates, developing relevant job descriptions, identifying skill requirements, screening initial applicants, conducting interviews

Operational HR:

You will be responsible for all aspects of the Human Resources function in a multi-site environment, with a focus on HR administration, talent acquisition, learning and development, employee engagement, reward & recognition, talent management and employee relations:

  • Support as first point of contact and provide considered, commercial and specialist advice and guidance to staff and managers
  • Ensure standards are followed with regards to up to policies, procedures, compliance
  • Maintain various employee related platforms and ensure training records are up to date
  • Process the necessary administrative tasks associated with day-to-day HR queries and issues liaising with the Finance Director to ensure accurate payroll information is communicated
  • Process payroll via outsourced payroll providers
  • Review, prepare contracts of employment, offer letters and other contractual paperwork as required, ensuring that it complies with best HR practice and relevant employment legislation
  • Review and manage both the onboarding and offboarding process
  • Advise, support and oversee all employee relations issues including grievances, disciplinary and performance management - ensure a current knowledge of employee legislation is maintained to ensure the business remains compliant and risk is mitigated
  • Spearhead and improve the annual and mid-year review process
  • Coach and support those with line management responsibility to maximise commitment and contribution from their teams and raise line manager capability
  • Run the employment award process
  • Oversee the monthly Ambassador meeting and execute charitable/wellbeing initiatives
  • Produce the relevant reports for the Exec. Management Team
  • Develop, produce and maintain employment policies, procedures and management guidance notes and ensure that these policies and procedures are clearly documented and are available to all management and staff
  • Adjust, implement and manage administration of salary reviews, bonuses pay and benefits administration
  • Oversee/ review company reward strategy and benchmarking of salaries across all locations to ensure they remain competitive and attractive and support and motivate high performance
  • GDPR informed to alert senior management should there be a breach
  • Assist with the financial planning and management of the HR budget
  • Spend the needed time in the locations to ensure that the employees view you as the primary trusted point of contact for their coaching and mentoring needs. At the same time, advocate and drive the self-service HR model and digitisation of HR tools to further empower employees
  • Perform any other HR related duties/HR related projects as assigned or when requested

Profile

Requirements for the Senior HR Manager :

  • Proven experience with generalist HR background at HR Manager level - you may have worked in a stand-alone role or as part of a team but will have the ability to be hands on when required and also engage at a senior level with the business and execute on core People strategies
  • Strong business acumen
  • Negotiation skills
  • Significant experience in recruitment, with the ability to think outside the box and a keen eye for spotting talent
  • Strong employee relations background
  • A confident, independent, and effective decision maker
  • Self-starter with strong influencing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience within Hospitality industry advantageous
  • CIPD or equivalent qualification
