Payroll Assistant (part time 28 hours) £30,000 take home + 20% bonus - City

The aim of this role is to support the Finance Manager by owning the payroll function and being the subject matter expert ensuring 2 payrolls covering 270 employees in total are paid correctly and on time.

This is also a brand new role and part time. Working 28 hours a week with hours of your choosing.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Effective management of the 2 payrolls covering approximately 270 employees
  • Using Cascade payroll software to input wages and deductions
  • Process approved expenses including chasing upper management for approval
  • Manage the end-to-end weekly, monthly and year-end payroll process in a timely and accurate manner over multiple locations across the UK
  • Including all submissions to HMRC
  • Calculation and processing of P11ds
  • Working closely with the Finance Manager for the UK business
  • Answering queries from staff, stakeholders and working closely with HR department
  • Resolution of escalated payroll queries and issues, working with and acting as the main point of contact for all related 3rd parties
  • Ensure processes and procedures follow current regulations
  • Development and improvement of payroll procedures, processes and systems
  • Awareness of changes to current payroll legislation in order to advise the business on necessary changes
  • Other ad hoc projects and payroll administration

Skills:

  • Must be a payroll professional with the relevant experience
  • Will have to have the desire to own a payroll offering outright
  • Must be looking for a part time role 28 hours a week to suit you
  • Must have strong Excel: V Lookups and Pivot Tables
  • Must be a strong business partner
  • Must have high levels of attention to detail
