Currently recruiting an HR Advisor for a 12 month FTC, based in Edinburgh for a Not for Profit.

Not for profit organisation, based in Edinburgh covering Scotland.

Description

HR Delivery

▪ Provide advice, information and practical support to Line Managers over the full range of HR activity including sensitive and confidential issues such as capability, grievance, disciplinary, appraisal and job evaluation in accordance with policies

▪ Support the HR recruitment service including maintaining an overview of recruitment process, vacancy control, screening, managing all temporary and permanent posts and appointments

▪ Providing advice, information and practical support to Line Managers in managing attendance, taking a lead role in co-ordinating and recording all stages the Promoting Attendance at Work Policy to ensure effective management and tracking

▪ Ensure that job descriptions are accurately prepared, checked and evaluated

▪ Support the HR Team Leader as required in managing the HR Administrators, allocating and monitoring work to ensure team priorities are met

HR Policy and Practice

▪ Ensure a consistency of approach to all HR policies and practices through the development of effective working relationships with managers who have day to day responsibilities for HR

▪ Keep abreast of developments in HR and contribute to the review, development, implementation and training of HR policies and procedures to ensure the promotion of best practice and compliance with legislation

HR Management Information

▪ Ensure the maintenance of accurate, up to date appropriate HR records and files in line with policies and current legislation, taking the lead in developing and maintaining HR trackers, databases and reminder systems which support the HR function

▪ Assist in the provision and analysis of comprehensive HR management information, producing relevant reports and information

Health and Safety

▪ Responsible for complying with the Health and Safety Management Policy and associated procedures and co-operate in complying with its legal duties

Information Governance

▪ Responsible for complying with the Information Governance Framework and associated policies and co-operate in complying with its legal duties

Profile

Education, Qualifications, and Training

Essential

▪ Educated to HND level or equivalent

▪ CIPD qualification equivalent experience

Desirable

▪ Educated to degree level or equivalent

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

Essential

▪ Current knowledge of employment law

▪ Proven problem solving and analytic skills

▪ Demonstrate a high level of organisational skills and ability

▪ To prioritise workload effectively

▪ Able to build and maintain effective relationships and work across a wide range of contacts

▪ High level of IT skills - experience of Microsoft Office and HR databases

▪ Excellent written skills including report writing and attention to detail

▪ Excellent communication and inter-personal skills

Experience

Essential

▪ Experience of working in an HR advisory capacity undertaking a broad range of tasks including working with and advising line managers on sensitive employee relations issues

▪ Proven track record in delivering effective HR
