The HR Manager will play a key role in the organisation helping to define and drive the strategic HR direction to support Company goals. This is a new position and as this is a standalone HR resource, the jobholder will be expected to provide the full range of HR services for the Liverpool operation, whilst adhering to global HR initiatives.

  • Provide expert HR advice and support to Managers and employees on Company policies and procedures and related issues
  • Support and advise management on organisational design, including liaising with managers and staff to produce comprehensive and consistent job descriptions
  • Support recruitment processes, from identifying recruitment needs, through to supporting interviews, producing offer letters and contracts and onboarding new employees
  • Review HR policies and procedures on a regular basis and update as needed to comply with employment law and best practice. This may include interpretation and roll out of Group initiatives
  • Promote and support diversity in the workplace, developing a robust inclusion strategy where everyone feels valued and respected
  • Be point of contact for bullying and harassment complaints
  • Pro-actively identify initiatives to motivate and engage employees and promote their wellbeing
  • Liaise with Managers and consult with Employee Engagement Committee on new policies and initiatives
  • Support Performance Management systems, identifying individual and corporate development needs and methods for addressing these needs
  • Monitor and report on sickness absence levels, ensuring all absences are reported correctly and introduce initiatives to reduce absence levels
  • Advise, coach, mentor and support Managers regarding disciplinary, grievance and HR management matters.
  • Process payroll changes
  • Maintain data compliant employee records


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Ideally have attained Chartered Member level of the CIPD
  • 5+ years' experience in a HR role
  • Detailed knowledge and appreciation of local and regional labour markets
  • Comprehensive understanding of UK and European employment laws
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and relationship skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience of HR and payroll software preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office
