Your new role
This role is project focused and also be focused on data provision and analysis. You will be reporting to the Head of HR and will gain a deep understanding of existing and developing HR strategy, subsequently planning for the execution of key initiatives and supporting the HR team to align and deliver against component objectives. The role holder should expect to work within parameters, guidance and vision from the Head of HR but with limited supervision and day-to-day management. The role holder will represent the Head of HR in a number of areas including the oversight of the HR Services team and key decision making, working collaboratively and effectively with the four HR Business Partners. It is likely (but not guaranteed) that the ideal candidate for this role will progress within the business after a period of time into a more senior role with more responsibility over HR. The HR team is a highly cooperative and effective team, speaking frequently and collaborating together on projects, supporting each other and sharing knowledge regularly. The HR team is very welcomed within the business with a true 'business partnering' approach whereby the HRBPs are fully integrated in the business and aware of all issues.
What you'll need to succeed
This post will suit HR professionals with extensive experience in contributing and implementing projects. A 'hands on' approach to HR is more effective than being led purely by policy and procedure in this organisation. With a handful of 'key sites' across the business and up to 40 additional 'depot' sites, there will be an expectation of travel and overnight accommodation via expenses. Some of the team have historically travelled up to 30k miles per year with an average of 2-3 nights away from home every week although this is expected to be vastly reduced with more 'home working' as we look to a post-pandemic future and way of working.
