Head of OD - 2 year FTC - £48000 to £53000, DOE plus excellent bens

Your new company
A successful public sector organisation / council with a great reputation have ambitious plans to serve and support our communities and we work effectively to ensure that our town is a great place to live, work, visit and invest in. Therefore, they are looking to appoint a brand new role - Head of Organisational Development - on a two-year fixed term basis, to lead the existing and also the new change management programmes and OD projects.

Your new role
The Head of Organisational Development will be to lead both the existing and new change management programmes and OD projects.

The council have recently developed the Organisational Development Strategy and now this needs developing and implementing the "detailed delivery plans" so that they can improve the overall organisational effectiveness and ensure that the organisation can support the regional economic and community recovery following the global pandemic.

This role is a Senior Operational Management post and the postholder will provide leadership and management to the Organisational Development Service; have responsibility for the day to day operational delivery of the Organisational Development service area; be responsible for delivering high quality services within the budget and resources which are allocated; will establish plans for managing, deploying and co-ordinating resources in a well-planned and controlled manner; be a champion for the organisation's behavioural competencies, embracing and promoting flexibility, cooperation and change.
This will include people, service and digital organisational development.

This is a challenging role - but it is a great opportunity for to join the new Organisational Development Service of this organisation, begin to mature the change capability and shape the future service provision.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful applicant will have a solid background in the Senior HR arena - specifically Organisational Development technical ability. Be HR change management, HR project management, and "People" centric as you will also be looking at a full change including the "Culture".

You will possess great leadership skills and have a strong track record in delivery, outputs and results. You must have a collaborative working nature, be able to work well with others. Be able to influence, explain and translate the complex into the simple to understand as things will not always go to plan - so you also need to possess resilience and a good sense of humour.

Ideally be a member of the CIPD and Level 7 qualified (or of suitably equivalent level or practical experience)
