HR Advisor (ER and Payroll admin) - Remote/ office flexible working - Manufacturing/ Retail Industry - Greenford

Main Duties

Employee Relations & Employment Law

  • Act as first point of contact for all ER issues across the business, ensuring advice is in-line with company values, policies and procedures, HR best practice plus prevailing legislative and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions to minimise the risk to the organisation.
  • Provide Line Managers with expert ER advice and guidance, ensuring the advice and support given is proactive, accurate and timely.
  • Can demonstrate confidently supporting managers with investigations, disciplinary, grievance and appeals procedures.
  • Can demonstrate application of absence management (Bradford Factor) in line with company expectations and support with welfare meetings and occupational health referrals.
  • Understands and support application of Family Friendly policies and procedures
  • Managing all related administration of the function
  • Foster good relationship with unions, line managers, and employees.

Onboarding and Exit

  • Writing and managing offer and contracts of employment to new joiners across multiple legal jurisdictions
  • Managing the new starters process and documentation, including setting up employees on HRIS/Payroll system
  • Support the onboarding Induction Process
  • Ensure all new starters provide the correct right to work documentation.
  • Ensure the exit process is followed and support managers within this process where required for interviews and checklists.

Payroll Management

  • Responsible for the full processing of payroll across the business network (bi-weekly & monthly)
  • Liaising with payroll providers to ensure right first-time payroll management
  • Ensuring payroll related reporting is managed in a timely manner
  • Responsible for administration of benefits
  • Support employees with basic payroll related enquiries (tax code, student loans, pension)
  • Support in processing and submitting P60s and P11Ds at the end of each Tax year.

Employee Engagement and Wellbeing

  • Support with employee forums, activities/events
  • Support with employee wellbeing programs and their active promotion

Professional Development

  • Can demonstrate supporting managers with 1-1's, annual appraisals, performance management and capability management.
  • Can demonstrate continuous professional development (CPD) about UK Employment Law and International Employment law (Europe, US and Asia)

Technology & Analytics

  • Can demonstrate HRIS Management
  • Assist with comms publishing and page management on Company intranet (the FOLD)
  • Can demonstrate supporting payroll management
  • Employee relations and absence reporting & trend analysis.
  • Learning & Development reporting & trend analysis.
  • Submission of ONS Statistics - HR & Payroll related
  • Support on company audits - in relation HR/Payroll
  • Ad hoc reporting as required

Adhoc

  • Support across the People team remit of Culture & Engagement, Recruitment and L&D as and when necessary

Profile

Candidate Profile:

This role would suit an ambitious and enthusiastic HR professional with a passion for supporting staff well being and strong administration to improving the 'people experience'. Big-picture understanding of the importance of people with the ability to foster excellent employment relationships across the Company in exercising good judgement and discretion with an open and honest communication style. Great organisation skills and a love for administration and process improvement, with a great eye for detail, prioritisation and time management which will be key with challenging projects and assignments. A cool head in a fast-paced environment with endless pasitivity and a proactive approach to work.

Essential (E) & Desirable (D) Criteria

  • Experience working in People Advisor role (E)
  • CIPD level 3 or working towards qualification (E)
  • Employee Relations Experience (E)
  • Experience in payroll processing either in-house or via a bureau (E)
  • Polish language skills (D)
  • Experience of working in an environment working to Investors In People (D)
  • Experience of working in unionised environment (D)
  • Experience of Thomas International or another Psychometric provider (D)
  • Experience of the cycling industry or a personal interest in cycling. (D
