Black & White Engineering is a Global MEP design consultancy, with offices in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. We are looking to recruit a Global HR Leader / Director to lead the business globally from a strategic HR perspective.

As a fast-paced, growing business; this role will involve developing and communicating sound policies and procedures that balance the needs of our employees and the needs of our business while ensuring compliance with UK and international employment law.

Reporting into the COO and working closely with our Business Managers; we’re looking for an experienced leader to ensure and implement the operational delivery of our organisation and people strategy and to also guarantee we deliver our services to support the business to achieve its vision and goals.

Key responsibilities will include –

  • Supporting and driving the business growth from a HR perspective
  • Designing and implementing the HR Strategy
  • Creating the Training and Development strategy including the provision of leadership and employee training programmes
  • Recruitment, selection, and onboarding - including targeted leadership appointments and strategic hires
  • Organisational Structure – effective and suitable structure for growth and HR partnering for business managers
  • Developing suitable HR processes that streamline and improve current processes
  • Designing and embedding Organisational Culture and Values including employee engagement
  • Focusing on continuous improvement; identifying and implementing best practice
  • Managing all grievance and disciplinary matters
  • Developing People KPI’s
  • Contributing to our remuneration committee including grading and bonus structures
  • Deploying innovative HR initiatives to improve the employee experience
  • Developing, managing, and evolving all HR policies including our Employee Handbook
  • HRIT & measurement – automating the employee journey and capturing useful business metrics
  • Building a global HR team

The successful candidate will have –

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar senior HR role
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification
  • Established, hands-on experience in a generalist HR position within an engineering organisation would be ideal
  • A passion for spotting, driving talent, and creating a successful team culture
  • A strong background within HR and ER, with an application of UK and International Employment Law
  • Experience or the potential to represent at board level
  • An ability to connect with stakeholders, line managers, and employees in order to understand and address their needs
  • Confidence to work autonomously and as part of a team, to deliver under pressure, to deal with ambiguity, and to challenge at all levels in order to achieve the best outcome
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • An excellent understanding of all MS Office tools, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Excellent attention to detail
