A highly desirable role as a Talent Development Partner is now available at a leading Financial Services business based in the City. This is a well recognised brand in its market and the business has a great culture.

HR and Talent/Development is at the forefront of this, the team is high profile and prides itself on the relationships and strategic influence it has developed across all levels of the firm. The team is set up to provide proactive advice, thus supporting a range of specialist functions in both their day to day and more strategic business needs.

As part of the wider HR function the Talent/Development team consists of 6 people based in London and the US. The position will report into the US but provide first class talent and development initiatives predominantly in London but also across the business.

Responsibilities of the TD Partner include:

  • Work with the Talent Development (TD) team to communicate and implement global learning and talent strategies and plans
  • Develop, implement, track and evaluate the global learning curriculums ensuring learning is culturally aligned, client experience centric and business focused, and embeds our diversity and inclusion philosophy
  • Partner with key stakeholders and the global HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to provide consultancy to understand learning needs, ensuring that these are matched with high quality, cost effective learning solutions that support strategic business objectives
  • Identify and deliver bespoke training solutions and team development activities, providing facilitation where required using multiple delivery methods including in-person classroom, virtual instruction, coaching and psychometrics (e.g. DiSC, 360 feedback, Hogan, EQi 2.0)
  • Promote the TD offering through creative and impactful internal marketing and communications
  • Conduct detailed learning needs analysis and undertake research to select the most appropriate and cost-effective delivery methods, content, materials, technologies and resources to best meet specific needs
  • Work with the TD Team to scope and implement ways of globalizing our development offerings making effective use of a range of learning methods, resources and vendors
  • Support early careers programmes
  • Support the annual talent management cycle and use the outputs to shape the requirements for the long-term talent pipeline, making recommendations and inputting into the resource planning process
  • Work with the HRBPs and business leaders to embed talent strategies and talent development programmes, integrate talent review and succession planning, develop career frameworks, manage coaching and implement career pathing plans across the business
  • Support the performance management strategy and process, managing communications, employee education and learning materials
  • Work with the TD team to provide employee support and training for the Learning Management System
  • Develop training and resources to support employees and managers through change
  • Monitor training spend and provide robust MI data to track learning activity and identify opportunities to combine global training activities and drive synergies
  • Maintain training policies to accommodate legislative requirements
  • Oversee technical and regulatory training requirements including liaison Compliance team
  • Support the HR team with ad-hoc projects
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned

Experience required to be successful in the role:

  • Full learning cycle experience - learning needs analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to adapt to and engage with audiences
  • Demonstrated understanding of adult learning theory and practice
  • Instructional design, technical writing and curriculum development experience
  • Apprentice, trainee or graduate development experience
  • Performance management
  • Implementation or management of Learning Management Systems
  • Talent review and succession planning experience desirable
  • Project management
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • DiSC, Hogan, EQi 2.0, StrengthsFinder or similar psychometric tools desirable
  • Classroom facilitation experience (in-person and virtual)
  • Learning/training and development experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder relationship skills
  • Rounded and commercially driven
  • Ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced, changing work environment
  • Global mindset
  • Pragmatic and hands-on approach, comfortable moving between strategic and operational tasks
  • Collaborative and engaging, able to influence across a diverse audience
