Assistant HR Director (HR Business Partnering)

Location: London, Canary Wharf

Salary: £64,762 – £71,302 pa

Hours: Full time, Part time, Flexible

Contract: Permanent

At the heart of the CMA is an outstanding HR team that enables the organisation to be high performing. As we respond to changing markets in an increasingly digitalised world, and the effects of the coronavirus, it is essential that we continue to have the resources to face these challenges.  This brings an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to play a key role delivering strategic solutions to ensure the HR team continues to build the culture, capacity, capability and commitment of our people.

As Assistant HR Director, you will ensure the delivery of first class and customer focused HR Business Partnering services across the CMA. It is a client-facing, diagnostic and solution focused role, where you will enable the high performance of individuals and teams through a coaching approach.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Enabling, coaching and challenging CMA senior leaders on the implementation and delivery of planned and unplanned people management initiatives
  • Promoting best practice in people management across the CMA
  • Supporting and enabling senior leaders with business and cultural change and organisational development projects
  • Monitoring and interpreting HR analytics and sharing these insights with senior leaders
  • Managing, motivating and developing the team of HR Business Partners
  • Building a performance and continuous improvement culture across HR
  • Driving HR Change projects forward

You will need to be MCIPD qualified or have a similar Human Resources qualification or equivalent experience, with extensive HR Business Partner experience at a senior managerial level within a professional services and/or public sector organisation. Excellent working knowledge of UK employment law, best practice and emerging trends is also essential.

Equally important is the capability to design, develop and implement change management programmes and use data to take an analytical approach to overcoming barriers to change and business performance. You will also need extensive experience of having managed others, particularly coaching staff, managers and senior leaders to enhance organisational performance.

The CMA prides itself on being a great place to work and strives to ensure that staff have the opportunity to grow and expand their skills portfolio. As well as being a hugely rewarding, diverse and stimulating place to work, you will have an opportunity to work for the public good whilst stretching and developing yourself in doing so.

We offer generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, 25 days leave and generous maternity/paternity leave provision, plus interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme and favourable consideration of flexible working.

The CMA may require you to work from home to continue delivering our objectives during the Covid-19 pandemic period. Any remote or home working arrangement is temporary only, and does not constitute a permanent change to your designated place of work or working conditions.

Closing date: 11:55 pm on Monday 21st June 2021.
