We are retained and exclusively partnering an SME to recruit a first-time HR hire - Head of People

Client Details

My client is a high growth SME start-up, who are on an exciting trajectory of growth over the next coming years.

Description

We are seeking someone top join this business to support it during a period of high growth. This is a first-time HR appointment at any level, and will be setting up the HR function 'from scratch'.

This Head of People role, will be a transactional and operationally aligned HR professional who leads on delivering the overarching organisational people strategy. This role will ensure a value-add and commercially astute HR service to the business. You will be the key interface with key internal stakeholders.

As a Head of People, you will have a focus on managing the ER, HR Analytics, Org Design, Talent & Performance and Culture & Engagement.

You will be a natural and engaging communicator who will look to engage, develop and maintain key relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. You will have an insatiable appetite for change, rolling your sleeves up and looking at group solutions for engagement.

This role reports into the Managing Director, with dual line stakeholder engagement into the CEO and CFO.

You will have responsibility for c.25 people, at first, which will triple in size over the next months.

Your base will be in MediaCityUK (Salford), with additional responsibility of a London office.

Profile

To be considered for this Head of People appointment, you will have proven experience as an HR Generalist / Manager / Business Partner, within an autonomous, proactive and operational role.

As the Head of People, you will be confident and assertive - with an outgoing personality and an informal, yet professional style. You must be able to communicate and coach effectively to all areas of the business; grassroots to leadership.

Understanding the business operations, the talent employed and the strategic focus the business, you will be a natural business advisor and coach to the leadership team. As a HR leader, you will be the moral compass of the business, and look to evolve behaviours and processes at all levels.

You must have experience within a fast-paced and dynamic environment that you have supported in being taken through growth journey - ideally with experience of setting up the HR function 'from scratch'.

You will have proven experience and a strong toolkit in the following;

  • Recruitment
  • Culture & engagement
  • Talent & performance management
  • Organisational design

You will be CIPD Level 5 or above.

Job Offer

This role will pay £45,000 to £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
