Currently recruiting a HR Advisor for a Software Business. The role is based at home, with travel to Edinburgh Hub weekly (outwith Covid) for a permanent role.

Description

As a key member of the People Team, this role will assist in the delivery of people focused initiatives and projects. The role will provide a customer focused generalist HR service delivery incorporating professional advice and support to employees which adheres to current legislation and best practice.

Employee Relations

● Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and ensuring these are in line with the current legislation

● Provide coaching and guidance to Leads regarding managing their employees/teams

● Assist managers in dealing with grievances, performance management and implementing disciplinary procedures

● Facilitate the resolution of any matters related to employee relations

● Oversee the content and educate managers on the performance management process

● Lead on Occupational Health liaisons with the provider and employees

● Ensure the business is compliant with legislation and OHS requirements

● Interpret and advise on employment law

Recruitment and selection

● Contribute to the People team with the recruitment and selection of vacant roles ensuring best practice

● Seek continuous improvement in the recruitment process and implement

● Design recruitment campaigns to attract top talent

● Develop job descriptions, prepare job adverts, shortlist candidates, conduct interviews and evaluate candidates based on skills and merit

● Advise managers on recruitment and selection strategies

● Planning and sometimes delivering training, including new staff inductions

Remuneration, Benefits and Employee Records

● Maintain accurate records of employee information and employment agreements

● Work collaboratively with the managers to benchmark salaries and conduct job evaluations

● Advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits

● Maintain employee records and act as a back-up for the administration of payroll

● Conduct exit interviews and ensure results are collated, reported and managed

HR Project Management

● Manage and lead on any projects delegated by the People Partner or People Director UK

● Assist with developing staff communications and reports as required

● Inspire new ideas and contribute to the overall success of People initiatives

● Provide advice and guidance in work reviews and change processes

● Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices

Other

● Analyse training needs in conjunction with department and team leads.

● Responding to employee enquiries in a timely and professional manner

● Provide administrative support to the People team where required

● Work with external providers to provide ensure best practice service delivery

● Where necessary, support the People team, particularly where team members are on leave and undertake adhoc duties consistent with the above responsibilities.

● Take reasonable care for you own health and safety and of others whilst at work and comply with policies and procedures

Profile

You'll need to have:

● At least 2 years experience in a similar role

● Sound knowledge of relevant employment legislation and ability to interpret and explain legislation to stakeholders

● Proven experience in managing a range of employee relations issues

● Strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills

● Ability to display a high level of judgement and project management skills

● Ability to effectively juggle competing priorities with a 'hands on' pragmatic approach

● Strong interpersonal skills both verbally and written

● Work collaboratively to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels and People team

● Strong IT and numeracy skills

● A proven track record of continuous improvement and 'making a difference'

● High attention to detail and prioritising work to meet deadlines

● Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times

● A commitment to continuous self development and learning

● Ability to compile and interpret statistical data and communicate it in a professional and understandable manner
