Currently recruiting an Interim HR Manager for a manufacturing business. This position is based in Edinburgh West (requires some travel) for a 12 month contract.

Description

Main Responsibilities

Infrastructure

  • To coach and mentor Line Managers in Company processes and procedures
  • To develop systems and processes that promotes an employee engagement culture
  • Responsible for the deployment of Group and UK policies throughout the Region
  • To manage the employee life cycle process in line with legislative requirements
  • Develop meaningful KPI's to measure the success and contribution of the HR model

Planning

  • Ensure all operational and transactional HR activities in the Region are planned and deployed efficiently in line with business needs to minimise loss of productivity
  • Work with the Line Managers to ensure HR outputs are in line with and support overall business performance targets
  • Maintain an HR presence at all Scottish sites on a regular basis
  • Adhere to the Head office Payroll departments timetable in relation to Corporate and National activities

Improvement Activities

  • Review, develop and improve the people process activities in line with the Employee lifecycle in the Region
  • Benchmark employee handbook and current policies and procedures against legislative requirements
  • Develop processes across the Region that supports the partnership working concept with the Trade Union

Employee Relations

  • Support Line Managers with all aspects of formal and informal employee relations
  • Preparation of the administration and attendance at investigation, disciplinary, grievance and absence review meetings

Administration

  • To complete all administration in line with the employee lifecycle
  • Other duties as reasonably required from time to time

Payroll and Month End Reporting

  • Clear daily working time anomalies for staff and process using SAP system
  • Complete all month end processes in accordance with payroll schedule
  • Run and reconcile headcount and working time balance scorecards
  • Training balance scorecard
  • Prepare month end reports and KPI's and attend monthly HR meeting
  • Prepare absence reports for Finance
  • Prepare all starters and leavers for staff and process payrolls and check payroll each month
  • Run SAP reports to provide data for payroll summary sheet and KPI

Occupational Health

  • Meet with Occupational Health on a monthly basis to continually review the service level agreement
  • Case management of long term sick cases
  • Management referral to OH for long term sick cases
  • Set up health surveillance, fitness for work and lifestyle assessments

Meetings

  • Complete and implement actions arising from the Scotland Executive meetings
  • To attend Operational meetings on an ad-hoc basis
  • To facilitate all People related meetings in the region

Annual People Calendar

  • Complete tasks relating to the annual people calendar; training plans, people review, appraisals, headcount budget, health surveillance, pension and data cleanse

Compensation and Benefits

  • Liaise and manage all aspects of compensation and benefits in line with Company policy including the annual salary review for staff and process
  • Calculate annual bonuses for staff and process

Profile

Skills and qualifications

  • Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel or equivalent
  • Previously operated in similar capacity
  • Experience in Project Management and Change Management
  • Management of Third Party Suppliers/ Unions
  • Relationship building with Line Management
  • High degree of business and commercial awareness
  • Demonstrable resilience and drive
  • Powerful communicator at all levels
  • Insurpassable integrity and confidentiality
  • People management

Job Offer

  • 37.5 hours a week
  • 12 month contract
  • Based in Edinburgh with ad hoc travel required to Milngavie, Grangemouth and Livingston
