This charitable organisation are one the nation's most popular environmental charities, improving the quality of public spaces and help people live more sustainable. They also deliver a huge range of programmes, services, campaigns and research across the UK, supported by a wide range of organisations and volunteers. All of this work requires effective management and co-ordination if we are to deliver on our ambition and create long lasting, meaningful impact. This 3-6 month immediate opportunity offers remote working to support individuals further a field.

Your new role

This organisation deliver a huge range of programmes, services, campaigns and research across the UK, supported by a wide range of organisations and volunteers. All of this work requires effective management and co-ordination if we are to deliver on our ambition and create long lasting, meaningful impact. Reporting directly to and on occasion deputising for the Chief Executive, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing and directing the delivery of the full breadth of our national programmes, campaigns and services. Financially literate, the COO will further ensure that the charity's annual forecast income is delivered on time and to budget. Importantly, this role will oversee the interaction between functions ensuring delivery plans are aligned and co-ordinated for maximum impact. Politically astute with exceptional stakeholder management skills the COO provides leadership for our parliamentary and policy work.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience in a relevant senior leadership position with ability to work at Board level. Successfully managing a range of work areas across competing disciplines.
Financially literate, with clear budget management skills.
Experience of working with key stakeholders and clients. These included local authorities, central government, trusts and foundations and private companies.
