HR Manager (Maternity Cover)

Your new company
You will be joining a higher education organisation based in central Oxfordshire for a period of 12 months, covering Maternity leave for the HR manager. The HR team is small but mighty with just 1 HR Admin to line manage. The organisation are operating a hybrid working model, therefore you will need to be a sensible commute away from central Oxford (walking distance from the train station).

Your new role
Taking the reins from the HR manager, you will continue to drive forward the HR agenda, ensure the smooth running of the HR function and act as a trusted advisor and peer to the senior management team within the organisation. You will line manage the HR Administrator who takes on all administrative duties relating to HR & some payroll too, they have recently began studying CIPD L5, a great opportunity to mentor and develop the skill set of this individual.

Your role will report into the CEO, an individual who truly values HR and what it brings into a business. The two of you will work closely together to bring ideas to life and ensure employee engagement, culture and they day to day running of all things relating to the people of the business run smoothly.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have a recent proven track record of managing HR operations, line management of HR team members and ideally will be CIPD qualified too. The organisation are preparing to bring staff back into offices and some staff remaining on furlough will be brought back into the business. So experience of the new aspects of running a HR team such as Furlough, Staff Isolating and Health & Safety is important to have.
