Overview   

East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) was formed July 1, 2006, with the merger of ambulance services covering Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, East Anglia and Essex.  

EEAST have a bold vision to ensure that the people of the East of England region are provided with excellent emergency and urgent care from our dedicated team of nearly 5,000 staff and 1,500 volunteers. Their overarching aim is to place patients and staff at the heart of everything they do while delivering their vision of ‘outstanding care, exceptional people, every hour of every day. The vision is supported by our organisational goals:

However, EEAST has some major problems they need to tackle in order to achieve these aims particularly in delivering a systematic change in organisational culture, developing and creating new partnerships with communities and stakeholders, whilst strengthening performance and quality – all areas which the new Executive will drive forward.

The role   

As a member of Board, you will share collective responsibility and accountability for delivering on commitments for a safe place to work and a safe place for patients.

The role of the Director of Integration is a pivotal one within the Trust. The post holder is an attendee of the Executive Team and acts as the principal adviser to the organisation to develop the cross-system relationships and drive new models of care which will be vital for the future sustainability of the Trust.

The post holder is responsible for designing and establishing the Trusts’ future role within Integrated Care Systems and interpreting the impact of guidance and policy on the Trusts’ role, such as the recently published NHS England ICS Design Framework.

You will also be responsible for the commissioning, commercial services and charitable activities of the Trust, and the ongoing successful delivery and development of these functions.

The post holder will contribute to ensuring that the Trust operates in accordance with statutory and legal provisions and in keeping with expectations of high-performing organisations, operating the highest standards with openness, transparency and commitment to a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

You

You are a strong operational leader, who possesses solid business acumen, with the ability to influence and build cross system relationships but also will have:

  • The strength of character to challenge and be challenged
  • Demonstrable experience of building, maintaining and utilising successful partnerships across a range of stakeholders
  • Strong track record of developing system wide collaboration programmes
  • Demonstrable experience of introducing, leading and managing major change programmes which have delivered tangible organisation outcomes
