Your new role
We're looking for an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our established ER team on a temporary basis. You will be required to:

  • Investigate alleged policy breaches and misconduct in accordance with the Bank's global investigations policy, ensuring proposed penalties and consequences are fair, reasonable, globally consistent and take into account local labour law and regulatory expectations. Suggest and track remedial recommendations.
  • Manage the UK Disciplinary process from end to end, including acting as the HR representative on the Disciplinary panel, providing ER support and advice to the Disciplinary Chair, drafting disciplinary outcome letters, communicating disciplinary sanctions to employees up to and including dismissal and updating key stakeholders.
  • Investigate workplace concerns raised by employees, including those categorised as whistleblowing, in accordance with internal guidelines, best practice and local labour law.
  • Manage the UK Grievance process from end to end, including acting as the HR representative on the Grievance panel, providing advice and support to the Grievance Chair, conducting grievance investigation meetings, drafting the grievance outcome letter and updating key stakeholders.
  • Provide ER advice and guidance to HR colleagues in European countries outside of the UK.
  • Partner with Employment Legal, supporting the development and governance of policies and procedures and ensure that complex issues and potential litigation are addressed and escalated as appropriate

    What you'll need to succeed
    The successful candidate will have operated in a Senior ER role for another financial services business and you will be able to demonstrate how you have been an ER Subject Matter Expert; proven track record in employee relations including investigating and advising on ER issues. You will have thorough working knowledge of UK Employment law, ACAS guidelines and best practice. Fluency in a European language advantageous (in particular, Italian, Polish or German) as would experience of working across EMEA. You will be immediately available to start a new role and will be able to commit to a minimum of 3 month assignment.
