Ashley Kate are currently recruiting for an ER & Policy Team Leader for a new role created following a organisational restructure.
The salary is circa £47k and remote/flexible working is available.
You will Lead a team of HR professionals to improve processes and service delivery and devise effective operational people management solutions
The role will involve Implementing effective practices to managing case-load's and routine employment relations issues.
You will design, develop and implement effective solutions focussed employment relations policies, and ensure high quality support and creative problem resolution is delivered to colleagues.
Main duties -
●Establish effective team working to ensure Directorates and Faculties have key contacts in place to manage relationships well
●Put in place mechanisms to manage peaks and dips in workloads across the team
●Ensure high quality advice and guidance is provided to managers and staff and that this is consistent across the university.
●Lead a team of HR professionals and provide coaching, advice, support and challenge to the team .
●Ensure policies practices and advice are fair and inclusive and the team keep up to date with equality, diversity and inclusion matters and that this is embedded in the team’s ways of working
●Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and embed across the team
●Encourage the adoption of new approaches and share best practice from across the sector and beyond, ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion are addressed
●Utilise strong employment relations experience in leading the team on complex case work
●Use data to identify problem areas and lead on implementing service improvements across the organisation on employment relations process and policy
●Demonstrable experience in leading a team of HR professionals to deliver consistent advice and support.
●Graduate Member MCIPD and/or relevant equivalent degree or professional qualification in HR
●Excellent leadership and management skills
●Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, with experience working with Directors and Senior Leadership teams
●Strong experience of dealing with all employment relations issues including employment tribunals
●Experience of building and developing effective relationships with Trade Unions
●Experience of implementing service and process improvements
●Comprehensive understanding of HR best practice and trends
●Strong track record of designing and implementing policy improvements
●Experience of designing and delivering training on employment relations policy
●Collaborative working style, seeking opportunities to draw expertise from across the People Directorate to design solutions
●Confident using data to analyse trends and identify problem areas
●Experience of immigration and compliance
●EDI Champion and confident in working with and communicating about difference, diversity and inclusion
