Would you like to play a critical role in helping one of the region's most high-profile employers build transformational leadership capability quickly, together with a high-performance culture that accelerates the behaviours they need to execute their strategy? If so, then read on.

Our retained client is a well-known and well-loved financial services business with a membership of over 750,000, total assets over £20bn and around 1,400 colleagues based across the whole of the UK. It is a modern, member-owned mutual, backed by 146 years of heritage.

Putting its members at the heart of its long-term business priorities, it has a vision to be Britain's most successful building society. This means balancing strong financial performance with unrivalled customer experience, in a well-controlled, risk managed environment which provides exemplary opportunities for personal growth for an ambitious workforce.

It's a friendly, community focused, values-led organisation. Today it's focusing on building future talent and capability, transforming the way it does business in response to its customers rapidly changing needs and demographics by building a collaborative and flexible workforce.

We're delighted to be helping them hire the newly created role of Leadership and Performance Capability Lead, reporting into the Head of Learning who joined earlier this year.

This newly created role has a big agenda focused on building leadership capability at all levels of the Society starting with the Senior Management Team who will, as Directors across the Society, set the tone and enable the environment for all colleagues' performance and wellbeing to thrive. The leadership development focus includes building capability around collaboration, innovation, and high performing teams, alongside inclusive leadership.

Working closely with the Head of Learning, Head of HR, Talent Lead and Heads of Functions and external providers as required, you will lead the strategy, design, and implementation of targeted, high-impact interventions focused on building future focused leadership capabilities. Whilst a broad framework has been agreed there is a genuine opportunity to define the detail and approach offering which will demand your creativity and clarity of vision.

You will bring in depth technical leadership experience, ideally from multi-site customer centric organisations, which are going through transformation and change (however which organisations aren't these days)!?

You will be well networked in this space with like-minded practitioners, have significant experience of influencing internal stakeholders and have a passion for igniting a lifelong learning culture.

From a personal perspective, we're looking for a self-confident, persuasive, collaborative team leader, someone who is used to working with ambiguity and at pace. You will have the gravitas and credibility to be quickly valued by the senior management team.

As would be expected in a financial services business such as this, all members of the HR leadership team will need to be comfortable with the in-depth data analysis and insight to inform decisions and planning.

The organisation has recently moved to an attractive new Head Office site in Leeds which has fantastic collaborative space for working with your team and stakeholders c3 days pw on average.

This really is a rare greenfield opportunity and if it sounds like the challenge you're looking for, then we'd be delighted to hear from you.
