The Head of People is and end to end generalist role with a complete blank sheet of paper to create a People function that is fit for purpose.

Client Details

The client are cutting edge in the AI world, offering a unique one stop shop service to customers from huge brands to government health bodies. Based in Leeds city centre, with offices in India and the US, you will spread your time between Leeds (2 days) and home to deliver a full HR solution and support rapid growth.

Description

The Head of People role will start with a full HR audit to identify the priorities in the first 6 months.

  • Helping to create and coordinate a company-wide learning and development programme, working closely with team leaders and individual employees to identify and deliver timely and relevant training opportunities
  • Managing employee performance development programme, including establishing a company-wide appraisal system, career development programme
  • Implementing a HRIS that can drive data across the business
  • Driving all Talent acquisition activity across the business with an emphasis on sourcing Tech based talent
  • Reviewing and establishing internal processes and policies e.g. performance management, grievance, parental leave
  • Proactively provide general wellbeing advice and information regarding personal and professional development

Profile

The successful candidate for the Head of People role will:

  • Demonstrate you have worked in a start up before - ESSENTIAL
  • Experience of working in tech - DESIRABLE
  • Background in HR policies and processes, including dealing with employment or disciplinary issues and guiding management through relevant legal processes
  • Experience in creating and managing training programmes
  • Experience in creating and managing performance management systems
  • Ability to work independently and effectively across multiple projects and teams
  • Highly resourceful and detail-oriented
  • Proactive, positive and collaborative mindset

Job Offer

The client is at a stage where they are full of possibilities. The benefits are basic at this stage but for someone with vision there will be greater opportunities as they evolve.

Base salary circa £50,000 - £60,000

Potential for someone more expensive who wants 4 days a week and has experience in a start up.
