Payroll Assistant GBP28k to GBP35k + Benefits - Croydon
A well established organisation with an attractive and high-end client base seek an experienced Payroll Assistant to join their expanding team.
Reporting into the Payroll Team Leader you will be the subject matter expert for high end clients and all of their payroll needs, questions and queries.
Role and responsibilities:
- Process payrolls accurately and within strict deadlines
- Prepare Excel timesheets, gross pay calculations, holiday statements and maintain BACS payment schedules
- Ensure pay rate changes, loans and statutory deductions are done correctly
- Apply current HMRC rules and follow the procedures set up at each step of the payroll process
- Ensure client deadline are met and respond to all client questions and queries promptly
- Ensure that client data is confidential at all times
- Visit new and existing clients to set up and review their payroll procedures
- Ensure auto-enrolment assessments are carried out accurately
- Provide wage cost information and journals to clients and internal accounting team regularly
Key Skills:
- Must have the relevant payroll experience and knowledge
- Must be a strong communicator internal and external
- Strong Excel (V-Lookups and Pivot Tables)
- Up to date payroll knowledge
- High levels of attention to detail and customer service driven
- Knowledge of STAR software/Earnie (Iris) would be beneficial
- Team player
