Faculty / Directorate

The People and Organisational Development (POD) Directorate supports DMU in attracting, developing and retaining staff, facilitating high standards of organisational performance and providing support to colleagues to ensure a quality student experience. We offer learning and development, support for recruitment and retention, strategic change projects, employment policies, staff reward and recognition programmes and staff health and safety.

Role

The Learning and Organisational Team at DMU is looking for an experienced Organisational Development practitioner to join a team of internal Organisational Development Consultants.

In line with DMU’s Empowering University strategy, the Organisational Development Consultant will work institution wide on projects and programmes aligned to strategic themes. This will involve working on multiple projects simultaneously in collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.

Developing alignment around DMU strategic objectives, DMU culture and organisational performance are key drivers for the work of the Organisational Development Consultant. This work will include scoping designing, implementing and evaluating interventions aligned to Leadership and management behaviours and expectations, Team effectiveness, enabling success through performance excellence, decision making and organisational systems, policies and processes and organisational values and behaviours.

In addition to work directly aligned to strategy implementation and organisational culture, the Organisational Development Consultant will support the delivery of DMU’s internal coaching and mentoring services.

Ideal Candidate

As an Organisational Development Consultant, you’ll have experience at all stages of the consultancy cycle with different stakeholder groups. You will also be able to Implement solutions to underpin strategic objectives and enable an empowering, constructive organisational culture. The ideal candidate will also have designed, facilitated and evaluated leadership and management solutions ranging from identification of behaviours and skills, tools and frameworks to enable management and leadership success and associated development programmes and interventions.

If you have worked with individuals, teams and organisation to articulate performance excellence and embed this into working practices this will be advantageous. Supporting teams to work collectively to deliver service excellence and Utilising coaching and mentoring as development interventions is also an essential skill to have within this role.

As an individual you thrive on identifying and delivering sustainable and impactful Organisational Development solutions. You can flex and adapt your approach to your audience and the needs of the organisation. You recognise the importance of grounding your work in Organisational Development approaches whilst ensuring solutions are tangible, practical and fit for purpose.
