HR Assistant

Location: Brighton - Moulsecoomb

Salary: £23,487 to £26,341 per annum

Closing Date: Sunday 31 October 2021

Interview Date: See advert

Reference: HR5019-21-332

We have two exciting opportunities in our HR Operations department for the role of HR Assistant. This busy role involves responding to a broad range of queries from managers and staff across the University. The queries can range from family-friendly leave to holiday to immigration to DBS to University policies and procedures - and so there is plenty to learn and get involved with. You will use the HR and Payroll database on a daily basis to ensure all contractual changes are inputted promptly and accurately and manage associated communications or correspondence.

What are we looking for?

· Previous experience in a busy HR administrative role

· Experience in using an HR and Payroll database

· A real interest in HR, employment law, and willingness to keep up to date with both changes in the internal and external environment

· Customer service skills

· Excellent attention to detail, together with an ability to prioritise work and manage deadlines

· Numeracy skills to be able to carry out basic calculations

It goes without saying that we are looking for individuals who enjoy working as a member of a team, and who will work collaboratively with others in HR and across the University. It is a friendly, supportive environment and we are receptive to new ideas and ways of working as we aim to continue to streamline our own processes and procedures.

These are full-time (37 hours/week) permanent roles.  We are moving to a more agile working environment where staff in HR staff can work partly from the University and partly from home (if they can work from home practically). However, during the first 2 - 3 months following appointment, the role will be based within the HR offices at Moulsecoomb to be able to provide effective induction, training, and support.

Further details can be found in the job description and person specification. We look forward to hearing all about you.

The closing date for applications is 31st October 2021. Interviews will be held on 9th and 10th November 2021.

Further details:

The University is committed to an inclusive environment which embraces equality and diversity in our working, learning, research and teaching environment. We particularly encourage applicants from a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) background because the university is underrepresented by BAME staff.
