Job Details

Your new company
I am partnering exclusively with a market leading manufacturing specialist in their search for a commercial Head of HR to support them in the next phase of their growth. They are a single site operation with 850 employees and an impressive EBITDA. To maintain their UK pole position, the owners have responded to their customer's fast-moving needs and invested over £20M into the business. They have a strong order book and have also recruited an additional 90 employees this year, so far.

Your new role
The Head of HR will report to the Chief Exec and be part of the SLT. Immersed in the business you will be operating at both an operational and strategic level. You will partner with the owners and CEO in devising, shaping, and delivering a robust people strategy centred around performance, culture, and well-being. After conducting your gap analysis some of the key focus areas will include sourcing and implementing an HRIS, introducing pay bandings/benchmarking, implementing performance management measures, and embedding these into their culture. You will also take a lead in reviewing how they can attract and retain the best talent and build on the wellbeing initiatives they already have in place. Leading a small HR team, day-to-day you will also be supporting various teams and senior stakeholders with HR advice, conducting performance management evaluations, and advising managers on complex ER issues and L&D activity.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced, Head of HR or HR Manager with broad generalist experience and excellent business acumen. You will be comfortable with autonomy, be clear on your own values, consistent, honest, transparent, and confident in your delivery. With a focus on ROI, commercialism is imperative, as is being an inspirational leader and coach. Experience of working within the manufacturing sector and/or an owner managed SME would be advantageous.

What you'll get in return
This is a site-based role Monday-Friday 8.30 - 17.00, although flexible working arrangements are available. You'll be offered a competitive salary, 26 days holiday, life assurance and contributory pension. With the owners open to embracing change, this is a rare opportunity to really make the role your own.
