A great opportunity is available in a City of London based international Financial Services provider. They are now looking to hire a HR Business Partner whose role will be generalist in nature and will cover the entire HR spectrum. This role is perfect for candidates that are currently at HR Advisor level and are looking for a step up to HRBP.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing advice and guidance to line managers on employee relations issues such as employment law, disciplinary and grievance matters, performance management, absence management etc.
  • Managing all recruitment activity in the client groups supported including interviewing and screening CVs.
  • Supports the Head of HR with preparation for the annual salary review and bonus process.
  • Manage ad hoc HR projects.
  • Management of the SMCR process for the bank in conjunction with Compliance. Duties to include but not limited to seeking approvals for SMF holders, notifying regulators or disciplinary action against SMF or certified staff and conducting annual fitness and propriety process.
  • Supports Head of HR with updating/reviewing HR Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensures HR and payroll records are recorded accurately in a timely manner.
  • Manage learning and development issues within client groups.
  • Liaises with employment agencies for recruitment of permanent and temporary vacancies, arranging CVs for review and interviews as required, ensuring that approval is obtained in each case in accordance with the Bank's Policy and Procedures.
  • With support from the HR Administrator, ensures that all background checks are conducted for all new joiners for client areas supported.
  • Ensures timely process of performance appraisals and performance management scorecards within the set deadlines.
  • To support the Head of HR with audit and benchmarking requirements.
  • Maintains absolute discretion at all times in handling sensitive/confidential data.
  • Manage the leaver process alongside conducting exit interviews.
  • Provide information to Risk and Compliance on HR related matters.
  • Manage any sickness absence and maternity issues.

Requirements:

  • Previous HR experience in banking/financial services
  • Have strong knowledge of employment law, including knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
  • Have understanding of Regulators rules and regulations SMCR process.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels inside and outside the Bank.
  • University Degree
  • CIPD qualified
  • Good level of numeracy
  • Advanced IT skills
  • Knowledge of ADP HR and Payroll System
  • Analytical and structured in detecting and resolving problems, escalating as necessary.
