The HR Consultant will be responsible for leading the creation of HR and employment policies across the business, ensuring they are communicated and implemented effectively, and are fit for purpose in driving best practice and an inclusive workplace culture.

Client Details

My client is a leading Public Sector organisation based in Newcastle upon Tyne.


Key responsibilities:

  • Lead on the creation and formalising of robust HR and employment policies, ensuring they are communicated and implemented effectively
  • Ensure that HR policies and procedures are central in delivering a successful HR service
  • Work closely with HR colleagues and managers to ensure that HR policies are fit for purpose in driving best practice and an inclusive workplace culture, as well as productive employee relations
  • Advise on OD and transformation projects, and translate projects into effective policy materials and documentation
  • Provide proactive and pragmatic technical advice and guidance to HR colleagues across a range of subject areas
  • Support on implementing new HR and ER policies, as well as assisting on HR interventions and initiatives


Candidate profile:

* CIPD Membership
* Graduate or Masters degree in HRM or related subject
* Experience of working in a Senior HR role
* Excellent understanding of HR and HR policy
* Experience of writing HR policies
* Professional and credible style for dealing with a variety of mangers and stakeholders
* Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships
* Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to meet project timelines and deadlines
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to prepare high quality written work and other communication materials
* Excellent attention to detail and a meticulous approach to drafting documentation

Job Offer

What's on offer:

  • £200.00 - £250.00 day rate
  • Immediate start available
  • 6-month interim contract
  • Remote working - must still be commutable to the Newcastle office
