The Assistant People Business Partner will focus on casework in relation to employee relations and recruitment from start to finish. You'll work closely with line managers providing advice and assistance. As one of the key links between the business and the People Directorate, you will also provide insights to the OD and Talent and Learning and Development teams to inform their work.

Description

AS Assistant People Business Partner:

  • Contribute to the development of new HR policies and procedures and ensure they are embedded within your area
  • Develop a sound knowledge of the organisation and the challenges it faces
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to influence and steer the delivery of people strategies
  • Develop an excellent knowledge of work being progressed in the wider People Directorate and provide insights to the OD & Talent and Learning & Development teams to inform their work
  • As a APBP you will be provided with development opportunities, bespoke training and coached on a variety of subjects relevant to your role to effectively perform your role
  • Additionally, after a minimum of 12 months service, depending on the experience you have developed, you will be apply for a career grade to become Senior APBP

Profile

What you will need:

  • Experience of providing advice, guidance and coaching to managers
  • An excellent knowledge of the law as it relates to recruitment and employee relations
  • Demonstrable pragmatic problem-solving skills
  • Organised, self-motivated and capable of working autonomously
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage colleagues
  • A good understanding of the General Data Protection regulations and experience of working with and protecting personal data
  • Knowledge or experience of working with people who may be marginalised, ensuring that they are able to get their voice heard
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development Desirable
