The Opportunity

I am recruiting for a not for profit in the City of London. They have an urgent need for a Payroll Assistant to join them on a permanent basis

This role will mainly be remote, with occasional travel to site for team meeting/s

This role is paying £28.000 plus benefits

This will be to process a mix of weekly and monthly payrolls with varying deadlines and payments

There are a number of staff who are on different terms of employment, different over time rates and salaries.

Duties

Processing multiple payrolls accurately, to include SSP, SMP, and manual calculations where necessary
Change employee banking records when necessary to process payments accurately
Record payroll data in our software system and verify all amounts prior to payment
Ensure excellent customer service is provided to colleagues and managers across the business
Process payroll by established deadlines
Issue statements of earnings and deductions
Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors
Update payroll records by recording changes including pensions, deductions, loan payments, salary increases
Process new employees, terminations, transfers and promotions
Prepare and print payroll reports of earnings, hours worked, taxes, pensions, leave
Address employee's pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll information
Complete requests for pay-related documents including statements and verifications

Skills and Experience
Experience of start to finish payroll is essential
Current knowledge of HMRC legislations
An understanding of manual payroll calculations
Ability to manage workload and tasks in a fast paced, evolving environment
Payroll related qualification CIPP or working towards advantageous
