Following a successful application within the University, we have a new part-time vacancy for an HR Assistant in our Recruitment team. 

The role of HR Assistant involves supporting managers across the University with their recruitment and use of our e-recruitment system. You will advise on job descriptions/person specifications, where to advertise, as well as handle immigration queries. You will have specific departments and/or Schools to work with but will also be expected to support proactively others in the team. You will also handle a range of queries from applicants to the University. As well as using our e-recruitment system, ensuring employment contracts are issued promptly, you will use our HR and Payroll system to ensure all new staff are set up on University systems.

What are we looking for?

· Previous recruitment experience and ideally in using an e-recruitment system

· An understanding of the new Immigration Policy and right to work requirements

· Excellent attention to detail, together with an ability to prioritise work and to manage a busy workload

· Customer service skills to be able to respond in a professional and personable manner

· Experience in using an HR and Payroll database

It is a very friendly, supportive environment and we are receptive to new ideas and ways of working as we aim to continuously streamline our own processes and procedures.

Whilst not a job share, the role holder will work closely with another part-time employee to ensure continuity of support and we are ideally looking for someone who can work 2 days/week on Thursdays and Fridays. We are moving to a more agile working environment where staff in HR staff can working partly from the University and optionally partly from home (provided it is practical for them to do so). During the first 2 - 3 months following appointment, the role will be based within the HR offices at Moulsecoomb to be able to provide effective induction, training, and support. This is a permanent post.
