The Medical Research Council Toxicology Unit is an internationally renowned institution focussed on the delivery of field-changing mechanistic insights into toxicology and disease. It is located at the newly refurbished Gleeson Building in central Cambridge.
We are seeking to appoint an HR Coordinator to oversee the HR administration function for the Toxicology Unit, including line management of two administrative staff. You will support a wide range of HR related issues and processes, including carrying out general HR administration to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the employment life cycle. You will be the initial point of contact for staff and managers with regard to routine HR queries and be responsible for providing accurate advice on HR policy and employment relation issues. You will also have administrative responsibility for the Unit's PhD studentship procedures, servicing the Unit's Postgraduate Education Committee and ensuring correct processes are correctly followed.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a similar HR role with experience of managing staff. A sound knowledge of employment law, HR policies and procedures is essential, together with experience of using Microsoft Office.
You will have excellent organisation and communication skills, be inquisitive by nature with the ability to learn new processes quickly. You will be educated to degree level/level 6 vocational qualification or the equivalent level of practical experience. CIPD membership would be an advantage.
This is an open-ended position with MRC funding available up to March 2024 in the first instance.
