HR Business Manager

A brilliant and newly created role of HR Business Manager is available at a massively successful and innovative City based Asset Manager. This business is going from strength to strength and over the last 3 years they have doubled in size to circa 600 staff.

HR is now in a position where it needs to capitalise on its strengths and successes in the business and hire a HR Business Manager who will role sit at the heart of the HR department, working to deliver on HR strategy, processes, initiatives, projects and global payroll. They will ensure that we operate best in class services to stakeholders. The individual will be a key business interface and work cross functionally to ensure corporate goals are successfully achieved.

In addition to this the role will manage three colleagues who are based in both the UK and oversees. The position will ensure that they are supported, mentored and developed as well as ensuring and overseeing their day to day delivery.

The successful candidate will have a blend of skills and experience. They will already have operated in a similar capacity in a previous role - ideally within Financial or Professional Services. Candidates will also need to be operationally strong, proactive in their approach, have superior stakeholder management skills, be curious and inquisitive and naturally want to know all about a business. They will also have solid HR understanding and be commercially focused.

Position Summary

  • Manage the operations team to deliver and manage the efficient and effective response to HR-related enquiries. Monitoring trends in inquiries, designing and delivering local solutions as
  • Manage and oversee day to day administration activities related to recruitment and onboarding and other day to day employee lifecycle related transactional processing. Oversee processing of data collection, maintenance and changes, ensuring timely and accurate processing, in compliance with governing regulations, monitoring compliance through regular spot checks/audits.
  • Oversee the global payroll process.
  • Responsible for HR report/data generation (where applicable) to support with trend analysis and HR dashboard metrics.
  • Manage the resourcing, scheduling and workload of direct reports, creating a strong positive team atmosphere, providing guidance, training and motivation as necessary to develop
  • Working with the HR Management Team to help drive forward the HR strategy, facilitate day to day operations and improve processes.
  • Drive execution of action items and top priorities, ensuring decisions/initiatives are tracked and followed through.
  • Project management of HR initiatives including the production of regular reporting on the status of key projects across the HR department (measuring against milestones, reporting on progress).
  • Project manage the implementation of any new IT systems within HR.
  • Preparation of HR budget & forecast process.
  • Management of cross divisional HR projects (i.e. implementation of compliance and regulatory requirements/GDPR/Internal Audit)
  • Responding to industry surveys, and responsibility for the co-ordination and collation of content for all Corporate reports.

Key Requirements/ Qualifications

  • Experience in Financial or Professional Services sector(s)
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years' HR experience in a role that involves project management
  • HR Business Manager or similar experience
  • Solid understanding of HR
  • Driven, curious, wants to really know the ins and outs of a business

  • Strong organisational skills, ability to multi-task as well as deal with changing priorities

  • Confident working with senior management
  • Team player, yet comfortable working independently
