Description

Currently experiencing a period of change, my client is looking for a People Operations Manager to support with implementing and driving the people agenda going forward. The role will take an advisory and proactive role in the strategic management of employees through:

  • Being responsible for providing a comprehensive and professional human resources (HR) service to managers and employees
  • Supporting the executive team in delivering strategic and operational HR priorities
  • Providing advice and guidance to the Executive team and line managers on HR policies, employment terms and legal responsibilities

Reporting into the Associate Director of People and OD, this People Operations Manager will be an operationally and strategically aligned HR professional, partnering with key stakeholders in the business. Managing a team of 4 across HR, recruitment and payroll, the purpose of the role is to deliver a comprehensive HR service, advising line managers and external advisors on HR policies and practices as needed in relation to complex casework.

You will be a natural communicator, who will look to engage and develop relationships with key stakeholders, including the board of directors and the Senior Leadership Team.

My client is looking for an individual with a comprehensive HR toolkit and passion for all things HR (but not limited to);

  • Providing advisory services to line managers and external advisors
  • Strong employee relations skills, covering disciplinary and grievances and complex casework
  • Implementation and updates to HR policies
  • Utilisation and development of HR systems
  • Recruitment activity and campaigns
  • Delivery of the Organisational Development programme alongside L&D

Profile

To be considered for this appointment, you will be CIPD Level 5 qualified, and have proven experience in a similar role, providing advisory services ideally within an NHS or Public Sector setting, or similar. You will be analytic with strong attention to detail.

You must have experience in;

  • Providing complex ER guidance e.g. TUPE
  • HR systems utilisation and development
  • Recruitment processes and campaigns
  • Responding flexibly to business needs, and demonstrating resilience during periods of change
  • Engaging with director-level stakeholders

You will be adept at working on operational/day to day HR activities, as well as supporting on adhoc projects when required. You will demonstrate resilience and experience of working with leadership teams to implement and drive change. Understanding the business operations, the talent employed and the strategic focus of the business, you will be a natural business advisor to the management and leadership team. As an HR Manager, you will be the moral compass of the business, and look to evolve behaviours at all levels across the wider business.

Job Offer

A salary of £45,000 to £55,000 plus benefits

The role is based in Manchester, with a hybrid working model of 1-2 days a week in the city-centre office. The office is operating in a Covid-safe way.
