A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the UK people Team of a large commercial real estate services and investments firm as a HR Advisor, you will be part of the advisor's team to support specific service lines and its employees. The role is presented as a 12-month FTC however there is a high chance of initially staying longer than the 12 months.

As HR Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Assist in providing day to day HR support to employees and managers as first point of contact for general queries.
  • Provide advisory support to one service line - project management
  • Building and maintaining relationships with employees of all levels.
  • Advise and coach line managers and employees on polices and procedures including management of redundancies and dismissals.
  • Own recruitment procedure within the service line, including approvals process and coaching managers.
  • Assist in coaching and supporting managers and employees on career management and employee development for support and more junior staff.
  • Process leaver information, including organising and carrying exit interviews.
  • Prepare monthly reports for the service line operations and executive boards.
  • Support and contribute to the people's department with maintenance of policies & procedures and contribution to wider UK business initiatives.
  • Provide support in annual people processes, such as salary review, bonus review, promotions, appraisals, and other project work.
  • Provide management of persistent short-term absence and long-term absence, including communication with GP/Occupational health and working in line with managers to provide solutions.
  • Play a key part on the service line's Junior Board, owning change projects where appropriate
  • Carry out ad hoc projects and duties as when required.

As a HR Advisor you will possess:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Maintain a positive attitude towards routine tasks
  • Accurate and exceptional attention to detail
  • Pro-active and enjoys working autonomously and as part of a wider team
  • Ability to be confident and assertive where required
  • Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, MS Outlook, Powerpoint)
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working within HR.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Enthusiasm to learn and develop HR skills
  • Hold a good standard of education- Degree or equivalent
  • Experience of HR databases (preferably Peoplesoft) but this is not essential as training will be given
  • A team player who deals effectively with colleagues and clients.
