Currently recruiting HR Operations Manager for a permanent role, based in Edinburgh (hybrid working).

Description

The HR Operations team is made up of experienced HR Business Partners, HR Advisors, HR Assistants. The team provide people management support to all employees of the organisation. Working closely with both senior business leaders and line managers each Team member provides people management expertise for their business area in various disciplines including recruitment, case management, resourcing, policy delivery, workforce planning and succession and talent management.

Leading the HR Operations team, you'll provide high quality operational HR delivery. You will ensure that HR services are streamlined and customer focused, ensuring that consistency in advice, guidance and support are provided throughout the team so that managers can undertake their people management activities confidently and effectively. You will also take ownership of operational process improvement and the implementation of this across the function.

The post is based in the Edinburgh Office with the requirement for occasional travel to other offices across Scotland.

Profile

Essential:

  • Leading and managing a team including coaching team members to provide quality of service,
  • Effective planning and prioritising of workloads and resources to deliver a consistently excellent service;
  • Experience of identifying, implementing and embedding process improvements, encouraging others to re-think ways of doing things, as you continually strive for improvement and excellence;
  • Experience of operating, influencing, negotiating and delivering at an operational and management level;
  • Providing professional people management advice and guidance to Directors and senior managers on a wide range of strategic and operational HR issues;
  • Ability to produce high quality written reports to inform and influence senior managers.
  • CIPD Qualified to a minimum of Chartered Level or be willing to achieve within an agreed time period;
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of employment law.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working within a unionised environment and participating in consultation and negotiations;
  • Experience of 3rd party supplier management;
  • Budget monitoring knowledge;
  • Experience of managing a geographically dispersed team to support the delivery of key business objectives;
  • Experience of managing complex programmes and projects of change.
  • Knowledge of the Civil Service;
  • An accredited project management qualification
