A brilliant opportunity for an experienced L&D professional has arisen with a global law firm. The Learning & Development Manager is a senior role in the global learning & talent structure, and sits on the leadership team, reporting to the Global Head.

Duties:

  • Play a key role in developing people capability across EMEA/US and contributing to firm-wide talent and organisational development initiatives.
  • Responsible for a range of learning and development programmes, projects and services including business skills development for all levels from vacation clerks to partner and business services staff across the firm.
  • Think strategically but also pay close attention to detail to manage programmes and services across multiple levels in multiple geographies.
  • Supervise team members day to day, work closely and collaborate with colleagues based globally.
  • Facilitate face-to-face and online programmes and courses for clerks, trainees, associates, business services and adjacent services staff and partners
  • Contribute to the management of L&OD systems, policies and processes
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with business leaders and stakeholders to support the efficient and effective operation of the L&D function
  • Provide consultancy and advisory services to the business on L&OD matters
  • Identify and liaise with internal faculty/SMEs and external providers for L&OD activities and negotiate cost-effective services and fees as appropriate
  • One to one coaching as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Significant experience in learning programme design and delivery to wide audiences including programmes for senior stakeholders such as partners and directors.
  • Strong facilitation experience (both face to face and online)
  • Experience in building blended learning solutions and applying innovative thinking
  • Coaching knowledge, skills and experience
  • Adept at building rapport and building effective working relationships with people at different levels.
  • Able to effectively manage and support the development of team members
  • Degree qualified (and CIPD qualification relating to training or a higher adult education qualification highly regarded)
  • Professional services or corporate experience preferred
  • Qualified legal practitioner and legal experience ideal
  • Accreditation in psychometric assessment highly regarded
  • Experience running assessment centres for senior promotions
