This progressive Head of HR opportunity for a established public sector organisation is fantastic permanent opportunity to join a service experiencing positive change, development and will support and develop the people strategy across the organisation.


Your new role

This client has embarked on an exciting programme of change, in both delivering on the ambitious plans we have shaped for the future, and in changing the way we work. They are now seeking a forward-thinking Head of Human Resources to drive forward their people agenda, and help them embed cultural and operational change to ensure they are fit for the challenges of the future. Working with colleagues in the Corporate Services Directorate, the postholder will play a key part in delivering a 'one team' customer focussed approach to service delivery. Managing a team of professional staff, this role will be the lead specialist for Human Resources, and the post holder will therefore provide strategic advice to our Executive Team members and senior leadership team colleagues, as well as ensuring a first-class operational service is delivered to support the whole business and its c750 staff.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will be required to advise and support elected members in staffing matters and will take the lead role in people-related projects which support our modernisation agenda. Candidates for the role will have significant experience of operating at a professional level within the Human Resources field and will have substantial exposure to change management and operational service delivery, as well as supporting managers to deliver the right outcomes in HR related work. A primary requirement for candidates for this role is the ability to act as a positive champion for the business Core Values. This is a permanent position and the hours of work for this role are 37 hours, 5 days per week, working Monday to Friday, with a flexi time system in operation. This truly hybrid opportunity offers flexibility in a diverse working environment.
