The role is a generalist one, supporting their Flint site - circa 380 direct employees AND providing some group support. The role supporting the site is generalist (circa 50%) of the time and the remainder is made up of group projects including health and wellbeing (this role currently takes the lead such as mental health programmes, menopause policies, health initiatives etc.) and talent management.

Description

  • To assist the Group HR Director and site HR Manager in all aspects of recruitment, retention, and development within the business. In parallel, take ownership for key areas for the group including wellbeing and talent management
  • All areas of the business that require HR support. Primary focus is site but with additional responsibilities for group projects
  • Responsible for HR matters within operational areas of the site e.g employment law, absence management, induction
  • Chair of wellbeing committee
  • Responsible for co-ordinating allocated projects when assigned
  • Assist the Site PA and HR Director in the co-ordination and management of specific group employee benefits - primarily group pension scheme
  • Ensure effective management of pay and benefits
  • Required to assess situations and propose solutions relating to employment law and grievance matters.
  • Required to resolve any pay matters that arise.
  • Provide solutions to manning requirements within the business including the consideration of other areas.
  • Liaise with Occupational Health in relation to any employees who require assistance.
  • Interface with H&S Advisor to ensure that H&S requirements are met and that the Health and Wellbeing agenda is enacted and continuously evolving.
  • To ensure that all matters are dealt with in the up-most confidence.

Profile

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in generalist HR role
  • CIPD qualified
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law and its application in practice
  • Coaching and mentoring skills
  • Extensive knowledge of recruitment techniques.
  • Proficient in HR systems and their application
  • Sound numerical skills to ensure effective management of pay and benefits
