Job Details
The HR Assistant will be the first point of contact for all HR-related queries, and will provide an efficient administrative service to the HR team.

My client is a leading national business based in the South Tyneside area.
Description
Key responsibilities:
- Be the first point of contact for all HR-related queries
- Manage weekly starters and leavers, ensuring they are processed by payroll
- Ensure that all relevant employee letters are issued and documented
- Administer HR-related documentation, including new starter packs and contracts of employment
- Ensure employee records are accurately maintained
- Arrange new starter inductions
- Coordinate drugs and alcohol testing as and when required
- Arrange and assist with note taking of disciplinaries
- Assist with recruitment and liaise with external agencies
- Advertise job vacancies
- Coordinate interviews and issue relevant correspondence
- Keep track of all new starters and probationary review dates
- Adhere to GDPR legislation, conduct audits and ensure that all office and sites follow guidelines
- Provide support to the wider HR team
Profile
- Ability to work in a fast-paced/ high volume environment
- Previous experience of working in a busy HR department
- Basic understanding of ER and current employment legislation
- Previous experience in a HR administrative role
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills
