Your new role

As a People Services Manager you will be accountable for the leadership & delivery of a colleague centric end to end HR service, responsible for driving a continuous service improvement approach through people, process and technology.

This is a 'strategic' and 'hands on' role that will deliver a professional, proactive, and commercial advisory service by providing relevant & appropriate generalist support to talented while promoting the company Values in line with company policy and procedures.

Key responsibilities:

Lead the People Services & Payroll teams, creating alignment and delivering efficiencies whilst providing the very best HR service to our leaders and colleagues
Act as a point of escalation and subject matter expert for guidance and problem resolution
Take a partnering approach to develop root cause solutions to people related issues
Lead the agenda for developing an employment offer that not only attract but retains the best people, including everything from recognition to benefits models
Organise the team using a People Services calendar and ensure that the team can provide a multidisciplinary support service across all areas of employee life cycle
Develop and continually review processes and employment policies to ensure they are aligned to the Group values and ways of working.
Take a lead role in business restructures, redundancies, TUPE transfers and acquisitions, creating the very best experience for welcoming new colleagues into our group.
Be the lead for the Group wellbeing and inclusion agenda, including driving the Mental Health first aid continual development with specialist partners
Design and deliver specialist People Relations training to ensure our leaders have the knowledge and confidence across the HR spectrum to best support and lead their teams
Develop, continually review and be the custodian of policy and process ensuring that documents such as people policies, contracts and handbooks are accurate and up to date and adhered to.

What you'll need to succeed

Proven leader and coach, able to set and achieve performance standards
You must take a 'people first' approach
You'll have proven experience of leading a team in a similar role with experience and practical application of up-to-date employment law
You must be confident in providing immediate advice that is accurate, commercially focussed and often complex to help leaders make the right decisions
You'll be a natural communicator, who is personable with the ability to interact, influence and build relationships at all levels
Analytical, able to interpret data and trends, provide recommendations and take appropriate action Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence others
Experience of developing and integrating HR systems will be an advantage -
Experience within a retail or healthcare environment is desirable but not essential
