Oakleaf are supporting an International Law firm to hire a Senior HR Business Partner into the team, supporting a population of about 120 across 4 fee earning populations.

In this role, you will be:

  • Dealing with general HR issues that may arise.
  • Ad hoc project work, as required, eg. reviewing the firm's approach to performance management; considering new opportunities for global mobility.
  • Working closely with HR colleagues, both in London and globally, providing cover where necessary.
  • Being an ambassador for all firm-wide diversity, inclusion, and corporate responsibility initiatives.
  • Working with partners and associates on pro active initiatives that positively impact engagement across the firm.
  • Responsible for all fee earner recruitment for the assigned industry groups.
  • Lead the promotion process for Associates and Senior Associates, working with the Global HR Director and partners to create a pipeline of promotion talent, then managing the assessment process
  • Work with partners in each of the assigned industry groups to map all fee earners to our global talent grid.

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • HR degree or equivalent; ideally, part or fully CIPD qualified.
  • A minimum of five years' HR generalist experience within a professional services organisation supporting fee earner groups.
  • Sound technical knowledge of employment law and its practical application.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to act with tact and diplomacy. Pragmatism is important.
  • Creative, curious and change-ready; we are always looking at ways to improve and refine the way we do things.
  • IT and numerical literacy, in particular Excel.
