A commodities trading firm are currently looking for an HR Lead/Business Partner in London to cover a period of maternity. You'll be the sole HR person in the London office but have a close working relationship with the HR team abroad including the Head of HR that you'd report to.

You will need to be able to act autonomously on decision making but also happy to pick up generalist duties such as signing off payroll. The remote nature of the team would suit someone flexible, that is very team orientated and will put the effort in to being collaborative.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Head of HR to develop and lead HR practices that aid performance, culture and values
  • Manage day to day operations of the employee lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with regulators and employment legislation
  • Develop ER practices as necessary (such as processes for investigations, disciplinaries etc.
  • Establish and promote a high level of employee engagement, developing initiatives that support culture and values goals
  • Establish in-house training, and selection of external providers
  • Check payroll monthly (outsourced payroll provider), manage all benefits
  • Utilise data to identify actionable insights, designing and then working on improvements to processes etc.
  • Ad-hoc projects

Candidates suitable for this opportunity will:

  • Have previously worked in a small business as an HR Business Partner
  • Has experience as main point of contact for senior stakeholders
  • Be confident checking payroll and running processes such as benefits, onboarding
  • Have strong employment law knowledge
  • **12 month FTC, potential to be considered on a 4 day a week basis.
