A HR Advisor is required on a permanent basis in Southend

Your new company
A Senior HR Advisor is required for a Public Sector organisation based in south Essex.
This is a great opportunity to join a well established and welcoming HR team to support on HR policy development, wellbeing initiatives and all aspects of a generalist role including performance management, absence and employee relations. You will support managers to deliver excellent people management ensuring best practice and policies are adhered to

Your new role

  • Managing short and long-term sickness cases to resolution, including reporting on and monitoring on absences, liaising with Occupational Health, arranging meetings and advising managers on reaching commercially sound and fair decisions.
  • Take the lead on complicated / involved grievances, such as discrimination.
  • Supporting managers with change management activities, including devising solutions appropriate to business needs (eg writing business cases for restructures or reviews), using HR interventions to add value, embed corporate values and improve performance.
  • Challenging managers to take responsibility for managing staff effectively, assisting and coaching where appropriate.
  • Managing TUPE transfers where required from an HR perspective, including liaising with incumbent providers, drafting correspondence, consulting with staff and subsequent integration.
  • Developing and delivering training and interventions to build on managers' people management skills.
  • Assist the HR Manager in continuously improving the HR Service, providing support and guidance to assist the HR team in resolving employee relations cases and in checking correspondence.


What you'll need to succeed

  • CIPD Qualification
  • Knowledge and experience in application of Employment Law. Experience of advising line managers on the rights and obligations of employers and employees
  • Experience in managing a ER caseload
  • A proven track record of identifying and delivering practical and effective HR solutions that meet customers need
  • Experience of safeguarding
  • Experience of policy and procedural development
  • Organisational change and TUPE legislation
  • Health and Wellbeing programmes
